I have bought this shoe for years, since early 2000. This shoe is supportive and comfortable. I wear it all the time. As a nurse I walk on concrete floors 12 hour shifts at a time and don't have the back or leg pain that I had with other shoes. I used to buy it a JCPenney's every time I needed a new pair but they for some reason quit carrying my size so I ordered a new skechers in my size from them, Skechers D'Lite and my back and legs hurt all the time. I wore the new D'Lites for about 4 1/2 months and ached badly until I got me the sports/millennium edition. Once resuming wearing my "old faithful" shoes my back and legs no longer ache. I love this shoe and will continue purchasing this as my only shoe to wear for all occassions. I hope they never quit making them. If they do I don't know what I will do. If I am made aware that they will ever discontinue this shoe ahead of time, I plan to order up many pairs at one time, NO JOKE!

This ankle cuff fits great and is very comfortable to wear. It doesn't run as far up the foot as many of these type of ankle braces do, which makes it much more comfortable because it doesn't rub your instep or bother your natural arch. The support is exactly as expected, moderate, I would rate the level of protection from rolls and sprains as a 4-6 in terms of support. This is exactly what I was looking for. I badly sprained my ankle 6 weeks back and tore two ligaments and badly sprained two more. As soon as I could jog again and get back to playing basketball (at about 70% by myself-at first) I used this for both and it has performed great. It isn't one of those heavy, stiff type of ankle supports. It's more of a little added protection, and a thermal element, which is nice as it keeps my still healing tendons and ligaments loose, warm, and sweaty during workouts. The orthopedists says I'm way ahead of schedule and this thing has helped me out tremendously. I've been playing back at 100% for the past 2 and a half weeks.

This brace is great for basketball, soccer, and football. It's streamlined, low profile/not bulky, and doesn't come up too high on the calf. Love it!

These shoes are amazing! I was looking for a pair of shoes that would keep my feet warn and hold up in Afghnistan during the winter. This is my third time in the middle east and I wish I had known about these before. I have used the memory foam slippers before but I found that the soles never held up. These are PERFECT! Because of the way the living quarters are set up here, I have to walk about 100 meters to and from the bathroom every time I shower, use the restroom, and conduct personal hygene. With the way the terrain is out here (sharp rocks, dust/dirt, mud when it rains), it is really hard to find warm, comfortable, slip on shoes with soles that are thick and surdy enough that I dont feel sharp rock hurting my feet. On top of that, they dont slip off if I have to run to get out of the rain. I normally wear a size 7.5 in US sizes but I ordered half a size up after reading the reviews. These shoes are amazing and I definitely recommend them to anyone that is in need of comfort around the house. They can take a beating.

I was pretty skeptical about the 7 but had to try because I love the boot. 7 was a bit snug but after two days wearing, it fits great and feels pretty comfortable in the foot area. The shaft is still a bit stiff, but I think it will loosen up. I've worn it with thin socks and no socks. Thick socks would just be too warm for me, but I could probably do it if necessary.
So I would recommend sizing down or trying two sizes if possible.

The best part of the boot is the little maple leaf on the back. So cute. The booty insert is a cool bronzey colour on the outside and orange on the inside and the trim is real shearling. Lastly, the description says 'Made in China' but it says on the boot and box and Kamik website 'Made in Canada'. Amazon just saw 'C' and thought 'China', I guess. But these are very well made and look great, especially in that sea of Sorels out on the streets.

They were originally a gift from my boyfriend when I got into mountain biking because he couldn't stand that I wore cheapy tennis-shoes on the "gnarly" trails we went out on. He was always afraid I'd slip or crash my ankles or toes into rocks or trees. Viola--these shoes saved me from any such disasters and alleviated his worries!

You will stick like GLUE to your pedals. To re-position your foot, you have to actually lift it and put it back down. This is super great for pedaling--I never lose my pedals and whack myself in the shins anymore. Moreover, in wet conditions, these things just get grippy-er. I did a hike-a-bike over smooth, wet river-rock (in other words, a skating rink) in these things and felt invincible.

The bonus is that they look really good and are genuinely comfortable after you wear them the first few times. When you first get them, they'll feel stiff and might rub a bit--don't give up on them! This is a mark of quality! If your shoes don't require a break-in period, you're wearing less-than-awesome stuff in terms of quality. I wear these shoes on a daily basis, biking or no biking and get lots of compliments on how cool they look. They also do great in the snow and on ice because of the awesome tread.

WARNING: These run small. All 5-10's do, it seems. I usually wear an 8.5 in women's and I have these in a 9 but wish I had a 9.5. They're okay and have loosened up slightly over time but thick socks are still a no-go. Order a half size or full size up from what you usually wear and you'll be great.

One bonus that may be unrelated: in addition to mountain biking, I like to ride the stationary bike at the gym. When I used to wear my old tennis-shoes, I'd get really nasty foot cramps only 5 miles in, which is less than half of what I like to ride! In these shoes, I never get cramps and have done as much as 20 miles of pedaling on the stationary bike in total comfort. For actual mountain rides, these cannot be beat. The reinforced toe and high ankle will save you over and over again, often without you even knowing about it.

They are worth every penny and more.

I have just started getting into jogging recently, and I had been wearing a pair of New Balance running shoes that I didn't pay much for to begin with. I always had knee pain and shin splints. I decided that it was time to bite the bullet and look for a real pair of running shoes, so I researched various brands and models. Mizuno was one brand I researched, and when I went onto their website and completed the free online assessment, it recommended the Wave Inspire 8 shoes. So I came on Amazon.com here and read so many good 5 star reviews. I decided to just take the plunge and buy this shoe. I actually bought my regular size 10 shoe, and also a 10.5 shoe (since it was constantly recommended to buy 1/2 size larger than your regular shoe size). I received these and tried them on the treadmill. First I walked a quarter mile at a good clip. Then I tried on a different shoe brand that I had purchased for comparison. I figured this would be the ideal time to try walking shoes since I had been on my feet at my volunteer job for 7 hours. My feet were tired and not too happy. Perfection.
First, the fit was true to size. I usually have to buy shoes with lots of toe room(translated: boxy). These had plenty of toe room, but surprisingly, they do not look boxy.
Secondly, this shoe is pretty neutral in rise. This is comfortable for walking.
Thirdly, there were no places where they rubbed or pinched. Good sign.
When I tried on the other pair of the brand of shoe that I usually get and tried to walk a quarter mile they were all wrong. I had to take them off right away. So I put the Teva shoes back on and walked another quarter mile. Wow, they just kept getting better. Then I kept them on for the rest of the afternoon. They were so comfortable. I felt like I was walking on air. This is very unusual for me. I have terrible feet.
So I have a shoe that is nice looking, comfortable out of the box, and a good color. What more can I ask.
Well, I guess I could ask that they last a long time and still feel good after 10 miles. We'll see..........

WHAT MADE ME CONSIDER:
My boyfriend got a pair of treksports last summer and never wore anything else except his work boots while at work. He then got a pair of komodo sports for the winter and never wears anything else except his work boots when he goes to work. He is used to going barefoot and swears that vibrams are the closest one can get to being barefoot without removing one's shoes and socks. For the last year, he has talked incessantly about how comfortable the shoes are with people who stop him to inquire about and touch his shoes. I really want to get back into running, an activity in which I've never done well but have enjoyed. The problem is my current shoes are too hot and heavy for the South, even in winter (it's been 60-70 degrees all week). I really wanted a light weight running shoe. After seeing how pleased my boyfriend was (and is) with his vibrams and hearing how they are supposed to be better for feet and posture, I just couldn't resist trying them on.

THE PURCHASE:
When trying on bikilas in a store, I was certain they wouldn't fit my toes. I thought only "pretty" feet like those of my boyfriend could fit into the toes. I tried on the treksports and the pinky toe did not fit quite right. I tried on a larger pair and those were just over-sized enough to annoy. I tried my correct size of the bikilas and they fit perfectly! Like any other type of clothing, if you don't like how one type fits, try another.

WEARING:
They were, as many have stated, difficult to get on at first, but they do stretch enough over time to make slipping them on easy. I recall making fun of my boyfriend for taking so long just to put his shoes on while waiting to go out to dinner, but those jokes are a thing of the distant past and he puts them on at least as quickly as he would more conventional shoes.

I bought the shoes and started wearing them the next day so I could break them in for running. I was going to use them solely for running, but I ran into an immediate issue: I wanted to wear them every day! The problem I am having is that they get more comfortable as I wear them. I am looking into getting another pair so I can have a pair for everyday shoes and a pair for running. I have not run in them yet, as the weather has been unaccommodating. Since I am basically back to being a beginner runner, I'm not sure that I will have to adjust as much as "real" runners, who have reported needing to alter on their running until getting used to the shoes. Time will tell.

I haven't found any reviews mentioning this, but I wonder if small particles like sand pass through the shoe. I would like to try trail running in these and I can see this being very annoying. I've had shoes that collected sand easily and quickly and it isn't pleasant. My boyfriend does say small rocks get caught between the toes occasionally. I do wish bikilas came in solid black or something so they would be less noticeable and attract less attention. So far, the tan/green has been enough of a traditional running shoe color that only 1 person has noticed them (or said anything, rather). So far, the tan/green has been enough of a traditional running shoe color that only 1 person has noticed them (or said anything, rather). I don't dislike how these shoes look, but they are odd looking. Hopefully they will become popular enough to become accepted as normal shoes, but not enough to ruin the brand.

To preface I have had bilateral knee microfracture surgery and lumbar discectomy and have gotten through one month of insanity and LOVE IT!! I, like others read the reviews and warnings not to use this program if you have knee and/or back issues. While there is not modified exercises for the difficult and joint straining moves, I just have always listened to Shaun T. chant "form over speed". That being said, I don't go beyond my limits. For jumping moves, I don't jump as forcefully as I once used to prior to my surgeries, I have just tried to listen to my body and push when I can and then develop my own modifications. I have completed the first month, lost 8 pounds, 3 inches off my waist/bust and develped some quad muscles that I haven't seen in a long time.

I wanted to write for those who have had knee and/or back surgery and say it is possible to do this program with caution and lots of stretching. As everyone writes, its not for everyone, but a lot of the postings almost discouraged me from purchasing this. I am so happy with it and look forward to working out each day:)

When purchasing clothes or shoes on amazon I really rely on the reviews, even though sometimes they contradict. I really love a round toe boot but initially I wasn't sold on the back zipper and the heel looked strange in the pics. After reading a review here saying how sexy the back zipper is I gave it a chance. The boot is true to size. I wear a 6 1/2 women's size. I only wear boots with stockings or trouser socks but if you want to wear a thick sock you may want to go a half size up. The calf is perfect for me, but my calves are average to bigger. My legs are shapely. The boot is loose around the ankle but since they fit well on the calves they don't slouch much. The heel is actually pretty and the best feature is the hidden platform. It makes the boot very comfortable to walk in while still keeping the boot looking very feminine. The back zipper is a treat. I wear black coats often so it's this pop of metal in the back that stands out. I've received many compliments on these boots!

So I had to give them to a friend. Otherwise, FANTASTIC boots. Just order a size and width down!

I've supported FiveTen for a long time now. If you've ever used any of their water shoes before, you know why. They have the best grip out there! I've tried other like Teva and NRS. Stealth Rubber is it! I was looking for a new whitewater creek shoe to replace my old 5.10 nemos that finally blew up. A few of my kayaking buddies have these shoes and highly recommended them. Great shoe with more of a sole than my previous version which works out great for hiking with a boat. One buddy said they run small so I ordered .5 size larger than street shoe size since i'm generally wearing them with a drysuit and socks. I'm not so sure that was the right call. I'd go regular shoe size if doing it again. I prefer a little snugger fit for scrambling around riverbanks. My previous Nemos were .5 under street shoe size. "Women From the Ankle Down" is a biography of The Shoe that hits all the high points, beginning in 1900 and ending with the present-day obsession with those Manolos, Ferragamos, and those red-soled Louboutins. Throughout, a certain famous pair of Shoes, the Ruby Slippers pop up and click their heels together.

Bergstein knows about them all, the wedges, the stilettos, go-go boots, Doc Martens, Reebok, Nike, and Adidas, Berkenstocks. Reading this book was a fun trip through the 20th Century from the vantage point of shoes. I learned what that bizarre fashion combo from the '80s was all about- when women everywhere wore their white hi-tops with their power suits- it had a very practical beginning. I learned all about how those Ruby Slippers came to be, and about the shoemakers who were Manolo, Ferragamo, and Louboutin, as well as some other big-name shoemakers who've risen up in the last century.

Shoes are a kind of shorthand, and they carry with them a kind of power all their own. In reading this fun book, now I "get it" better. Like the shoes she writes about, Rachelle Bergstein and her book are just fabulous!

Ok, i have always leaned towards the minimalist side. Recently getting into running, I always sacrifice support and comfort to get the lowest profile/lightest shoe possible. So when I hiked, I had always been using a trail running shoes to backpack with. Recently though, I have been taking some longer trips where my pack weighs in excess of 60 lbs. The trail running shoes were not cutting it, and hiking through treacherous terrain my feet and ankles were taking a beating. Furthermore, the last hike I almost rolled my ankle more than once stepping on some rock cropping in the trail. I have owned many work boots and casual boots in my life time, but this is the first hiking boot I have ever purchased just for that.

I made the purchase because of the many positive reviews, especially from our men and women in uniform in the mountains of Afghanistan. They have met and exceeded my expectations. I will best describe them as a 360 fit. One in which you feel you have support at every point the boot touches, which is important if you are hiking through mountains like I recently did. I put 119 miles on them in five days. I am very happy with the good grip, solid fit, kept my ankle from rolling when stepping on awkward and uneven trail surfaces. Those times when you feel yourself going the wrong direction because the weight of your pack. My hike was through the ouchita Mountains in Eastern OK and Western Arkansas. The first 60 miles of trail, there area a lot of 300 ft to 2300 ft climbs, than back down into another valley, than back up. So I definitely put them to the test.

Very happy with these. I plan on using them for about four more hikes, I will than buy another pair and start breaking them in on shorter hikes. That was the only thing I did wrong. I feel these boots need a good 50 miles to get them broke in and for your feet to get used to them. Therefore, if you are wanting to get on a five day or longer hike. Please try and at least put 50 miles on them before you take them out on a longer trip. Which that is the golden rule that is always taught with new boots, but I did not do that.

I would recommend these hiking boots to anyone looking for a quality pair at a good price.

Thank you so much for sharing your reviews on this lovely pair of booties! Thanks to you, Im now a fellow fan of these booties too :) They are just what I was looking for! I needed a pair of shoes that I could:
- wear to work
- wear to a nice dinner after work without needing to change shoes
- look good with all outfits
- be lightweight
- keep my feet warm (in winter)
- and most importantly, be comfortable enough to walk in for any length!

These well made booties match my criteria to a T. I have worn them for just a few hours and love them already! :) Being a clutz on heels, Ive always worn flat and comfortable shoes. The heels in these beauties look a little pointy (which Ive never been able to handle) but dont feel it at all! This way, I dont have to forsake style factor for comfort. I wear 8.5 and they fit true to size. There is enough arch support to keep your feet cushioned all day. The first thing that I was surprised about and impressed with is how light-weight they were!!

I cant wait to wear them regularly and hope to remain satisfied with these booties :)

Comfortable, stylish casual boot

FRYE Womens Veronica Slouch Boot

I bought this boot because I've been obsessed with Frye for awhile and thought it would be a nice, versatile style. I immediately liked the boot: the leather shaft is thick and of high quality, the boot itself is comfortable (true to size to my standard size 10) and there was very little "breaking in" period. Also I will note that the boot shafts were roomy but not too wide, which was nice because I have slim calves.

The thing that really impressed me was that I took these boots to Montreal - not knowing that the city had just received an almost-record snowfall - and they were the only shoes I had other than sneakers and flip flops for the next three days. I had to walk two dogs three times each day in everything from fresh snow to brown, melted slush. These boots PERFORMED. I could not believe that the boots stayed completely waterproof!

So yeah: stylish, comfortable, waterproof. Hopefully will last forever, too!

My second favourite. Which means nothing because they're Frye's and are built to be 5 stars.
On the topic of snaps coming undone.. It's drove me crazy, which is why I waited so long to write a review. Every 5 minutes, one of the heel snaps would come undone. I don't know why, but after wearing them every day for a month (I love the look that much), it just stopped. I don't know if others experienced the positive change, but now they only come undone if I'm stumbling home after a couple drinks and manage to boot my heel or something. SO, with that out of the way, I have next to no complaints. In the early days, when wearing sheer tights, I noticed a small chafe on my heel from the zipper. That stopped too, probably since the leather around the zipper psoftened up. I went with black, avoiding the distressed, figuring they'd get distressed on their own. Walking approx 1.5 hrs a day in a damp northwest climate, I'm not exactly easy on my shoes. So here I am left with my favourite boots ever. I like it better than the Paige- has a stronger sole and toe. Better than the Carson for similar reasons, as well as a style that goes with WAY more outfits. I'm wearing them now. They dress up or down. Jeans or dress. I don't know if I'll ever take them off- I'm starting to think I won't have to.....

Sansha Pro Canvas Ballet Slipper

I got these for an Irish dance class that I'm taking at my university. I was wearing sneakers, but these are so much more comfortable and really made my steps nicer. I got them in black so that they wouldn't get dirty. I have never had dance shoes before, so I have nothing to compare them, but after a lot of research I got these, and I was very happy with them. After reading the reviews, I was prepared for the sizing to be off, so I checked the sizing chart at this site:

In the end I ordered a 10N (and I normally wear a women's 8 1/2), and they fit very well. Because of the shape of these, they really hug your feet, which make it very comfortable and give you a little more support. They also have elastic all the way around the opening, which you can tie for just the right fit. Also, they come with the criss-crossed straps only sewn onto the back, so you can personalize the fit. With my sewing skills they ended up a little crooked, but they fit nicely.

Also, as some people noted, the bottoms tend to get a little slippery. I would recommend maybe using sand paper or something to just rough it back up. I used a finger nail file, which was the only thing I had on hand, and it helped a lot.

I don't want to take these shoes off. They're soooooooo COMFORTABLE. And they're so pretty, too :) I got the gray ones. But seriously... they're the best shoes I've ever had. I'm a runner, and I'm always looking for the most comfortable shoes, and these have all my running shoes beat. They're also lighter than my running shoes, surprisingly enough. I normally wear orthotics, but I don't have to wear them with these shoes; I don't overpronate at all. Bottom line, they're absolutely amazing, and I've worn them every day since the day I got them. No blisters or anything of the sort. My feet are in heaven :)

As far as size goes, I normally wear an 8 or an 8.5, but I normally wear a 9 in running shoes, and a 9 fits me perfectly in these as well. My dad has wide feet, and he can't wear Merrells, so keep that in mind.

I haven't had them for very long, but they seem to be very rugged. And my boyfriend has the boy version of these shoes, and he wore them for a hike and through puddles and whatnot and he said his feet stayed perfectly dry. My mother also has them; she works at a nature center and hikes at least four miles a day, and she says these are the best hiking shoes she's ever had.

So seriously. BUY THESE. I'm in love.
